Dr. Bassam Damaj is a biotechnology entrepreneur, immunologist, and executive with over two decades of experience building and scaling science-driven companies across healthcare, biotechnology, and climate-health innovation. He has founded or co-founded seven companies, led three IPOs, and played a central role in establishing more than $1 billion in global partnerships across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.
Dr. Damaj has held senior leadership and R&D roles at globally recognized organizations including Pfizer, Genentech, Mitsubishi Tanabe, Apricus Biosciences, Innovus Pharmaceuticals, and Aytu BioPharma. His work spans drug development, medical devices, natural health products, and advanced materials, with a strong focus on translating scientific innovation into commercially viable products.
An accomplished inventor and author, Dr. Damaj has contributed to over 120 peer-reviewed publications, patents, and book chapters. He holds a PhD in Immunology and Microbiology and completed a fellowship in Molecular Oncology at McGill University. He also holds an executive degree from Stanford University.
